1. Accepting these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and InvoScan (“InvoScan”, “we”, “us”) covering the InvoScan mobile app and this website. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use InvoScan.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. InvoScan is built for freelancers and self-employed people tracking their own business expenses.

2. What InvoScan does

InvoScan lets you photograph a receipt, uses AI to extract the merchant, date, amounts and line items, suggests an expense category, stores the result in your account, and lets you export your records as CSV or PDF.

InvoScan is a record-keeping tool. It does not file anything with any tax authority, does not connect to your bank, and does not move money.

3. Your account

4. Free tier and InvoScan Pro

The free tier includes 10 receipt scans per calendar month. The counter resets at the start of each month. All of your existing receipts stay accessible and exportable on the free tier — only new scans are limited.

InvoScan Pro removes that limit and is offered as an auto-renewing subscription:

Prices are shown in your local currency inside the app and may differ by country and over time. The price displayed at the moment you subscribe is the price that applies. Pro is subject to a fair-use ceiling to prevent abuse; we will contact you before taking any action if your usage is genuinely extraordinary.

5. Billing, renewal and cancellation

All payments are handled by Apple or Google, not by us. We never receive your card details.

Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancel through the store first.

6. Not tax, accounting or financial advice

InvoScan suggests expense categories modelled on IRS Schedule C headings. These are starting points, not tax advice. We are not accountants, tax preparers, or financial advisers, and nothing InvoScan produces is a substitute for a qualified professional.

AI extraction is not guaranteed to be accurate. It can misread amounts, dates and merchant names, particularly on faded, crumpled or unusual receipts. Every extracted field is editable precisely because you are expected to check it. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of anything you file with a tax authority or give to your accountant.

7. Your content

Your receipts, images and notes are yours. We claim no ownership of them.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, transmit and display your content strictly for the purpose of operating InvoScan for you — including sending receipt images to our AI provider so they can be read. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account. We do not use your receipts to train AI models, and we do not sell them. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.

You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, and for keeping your own backups of records you are legally required to retain.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep InvoScan running but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Features may be added, changed or removed. If we make a materially adverse change to a paid feature, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel.

We may update these Terms. For significant changes we will give notice in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use InvoScan afterwards means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Termination

You can stop at any time by deleting your account in Settings → Delete account. That permanently erases your receipts and images, and cannot be undone — export first if you need the records.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms, or where we are required to by law. Except in cases of serious or repeated abuse, we will give you notice and a chance to put things right. If we terminate your account without cause while you have a paid subscription, we will refund the unused portion.

11. Disclaimers

InvoScan is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that extraction results will be accurate, complete, or suitable for tax filing.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost data, lost deductions, penalties or interest assessed by a tax authority.

Our total liability for any claim relating to InvoScan is limited to the greater of US$50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep all mandatory statutory rights in your country of residence, and nothing here overrides them.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the InvoScan developer is established, without regard to conflict of law rules, and its courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer, none of this deprives you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your own country of residence. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
